All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Tucson Citizen, Tucson AZ John Emil (Jack) Crouch Loving husband, father and grandparent, died peacefully at his home on December 5, 2003. A third generation in the oil industry he was born to John Boise and Gladys Crouch in Akron, Ohio on February 18, 1915 and taken to the eastern Oklahoma oilfields at an early age. After graduating from Healdton, Oklahoma high school he attended Murray Jr. College and Oklahoma University. During the early WWII years Jack became a master tool and die maker and taught in the Detroit Ford Motor Trade School. In 1944 he became plant engineer at Phillip Petroleum Company's innovative Carbon Black plant in Borger, Texas and helped develop a new process of production and shipment of Carbon Black that revolutionized the industry. Jack returned to his hometown, Drumright, Oklahoma, as owner of 4-J Drilling Company in 1950 and enjoyed years of small town activities and work with oil companies, both major and independent. This lead to employment in 1961 by Caltex Petroleum Corporation that took him to the oilfields of Indonesia and Libya. Jack retired to Tucson, Arizona in 1976 and was active in the Association of Chevron Retirees and Leones de la Noche Club. Continuing a lifetime of community service he volunteered with Primavera Foundation, KUAT and St. Philip's Episcopal Church. Throughout his life he demonstrated his respect for all people and cultures and had friends around the world. Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janice Sellers Crouch; son, John Howard Crouch and wife, Jennie of Tucson; son, James Allen and wife, Lyn of Sacramento, CA and by four grandchildren, Aaron, Nicole, Clay and Jessica and one great-granddaughter, Jayla Stevenson.
