Dodson, loving and devoted husband for 58 years to the late Hazel E. Dodson, passed away at the age of 90 with family by his side at Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda, due to injuries from a fall. George was born in Creek County, Oklahoma, where he grew up and attended Kellyville High School. He and his wife Hazel reared their two sons in Oakland, California. He was proud of his over 35 years of work at Grove Valve and Regulator Company, retiring as an executive in 1987. He was well known for his sense of humor, wonderful storytelling, and the twinkle in his eye. George was an avid baseball fan, and a big follower of the Oakland A's. He is survived by many loving family members, including his son Dallas and wife Bunny, son Stanley and wife Catherine, grandchildren Stanley, Anastasia, Jake, Bonnie, Holly, Joseph and their spouses, and great grandchildren Luke, Zack, John, Laura, Olivia, and Joseph. George was a treasured friend to many people who will keep his memory in their hearts forever. Viewing will be at Keaton's Mortuary in Novato on Wednesday, May 30th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Valley Memorial Park in Novato at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 31st. Flowers may be sent to Keaton's on Wednesday, or a donation in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
