All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Llano Cemetery--Amarillo TX Amarillo Globe News 4 Dec 1998 Bertha Lea Faulkner Bertha Lea Faulkner, 92, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with Dr. Murray Gossett, associate pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Faulkner was born in Mounds, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1907. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1923 with the first class to graduate from the then-new high school building on Polk Street. She had been an office manager of Pinkney Packing Co. for 22 years, retiring in 1953. Mrs. Faulkner began volunteer work with the Amarillo Council of Garden Clubs Inc. in 1966. She also served as a member of the executive board and was a director for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She married Harry M. Faulkner in 1942. He died in 1996. Survivors include two nieces, Marian Clark of Tulsa and Rue Nelle McCullah of Tacoma, Wash.; two nephews, David Steele of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jim Lea of Riesel. The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers be to Amarillo Botanical Gardens, 1400 Streit Drive, Amarillo, TX 79106 or to First Presbyterian Church, 1100 S.
