All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Frazier, Phylis Rose Hesser Kordis Phylis Rose Hesser Kordis Frazier, Phd., age 68, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away July 10, 2002, after a heroic year long battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 15, 1933, to Rose and Phil Hesser in Drumright, OK. Phylis graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Masters in Early Childhood Education and received her Doctorate of Philosophy in Communication from the University of Oklahoma. Phylis is survived by her two children and their spouses, Elizabeth Rose & Doug Nelson of Tahlequah, Jim & Crysta Frazier of OKC and her 3 grandchildren. Phylis is preceded in death by both parents and one grandchild. Phylis was a certified Montessori teacher and dedicated much of her life to educating children. Phylis started her career at New World School and helped establish the HeadStart program in OKC where she worked many years before founding her own school 'Discovery' in 1974. Phylis later worked for both Rose State College and OU. Phylis' true legacy is the love and devotion she gave to many OKC families while providing children opportunities to learn through play and discovery. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Sat., July 13, 2002, at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church where she was a member. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Epiphany Church or to the Oklahoma Cancer Care Foundation. Phylis is remembered as a loving and generous mother and grandmother, teacher and friend who will be forever in our hearts. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, July 12, 2002 from 6-8 PM. GUARDIAN WEST 41 & N.
