All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 30 April 2004 ROSETTA "ETTA" HICKS Rosetta "Etta" Hicks, 95, of Duncan, OK, died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, in Duncan. She was born Nov. 3, 1908, to Zachariah and Nettie Strong Kellerman in Kiefer, OK. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, at the Assumption Catholic Church in Duncan, with Rev. Donald J. Wolf officiating. Interment will be in Duncan City Cemetery under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel. Etta graduated from Drumright High and Hills Business College. She married Leo P. Hicks on Feb. 2, 1932, in Oklahoma City, and they moved to Duncan in Jan. 1942. Leo and Etta owned Hicks Milk and Ice Cream Company and later Hicks Heating and Air Conditioning Company. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar Society. She enjoyed the outdoors. She owned and rode horses and was active in the Stephens County Roundup Club for many years. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Frank and Melba Hicks of Duncan, and Paul and Veronica Hicks of St. Louis, MO; a daughter, Mary Jessen of Chickasha, OK, a sister, Pearl Kemper of Odessa, TX; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, her parents, an infant daughter, Margaret Ellen, five brothers, and one sister. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Jessen, Eric Jessen, Justin Jessen, Zach Jessen, Andy Hicks, and Jason Ryan.
