Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Davlyn Duesterhaus, BSA chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Houghtaling was born in Drumwright, Okla. She graduated from Oklahoma University. She taught for many years in such places as Roswell, N.M., Elgin, Okla., Laredo, Vega and Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. She also taught at Travis Junior High in Amarillo. After retiring, she continued working at West Texas State University. Mrs. Houghtaling was a member of many teachers' organizations, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Eastern Star. Survivors include a son, Larry Houghtaling of Dallas; a brother, Jesse Oren Haug of Dallas; a sister, Lucy Ruth Haug of Oklahoma; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Jones of Amarillo; a grandson, Aaron Wylie of Amarillo; the mother of the grandchildren, Ann Wylie of Amarillo; a great-granddaughter, Tristan Jones; a great-grandson, Kellan Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.
