All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Moore Memorial Gardens--Arlington TX Head, Walter Young Walter Young Head, 88, retired owner of his last business, Mr. Fix- it, small appliance repair, died Thursday, June 29, 2006, at an Arlington hospital. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Handley Church of Christ. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Blessing Funeral Home. Memorials: Spanish Literature Ministries, Wichita Falls, Texas. Walter was born on the family farm in Creek County, Okla., on Feb. 3, 1918, the son of Homer H. Head and Levisa Ellen Tucker Head. He married Ethelene Curtis on May 29, 1937, in Bristow, Okla. Walter was baptized in Midland on July 16, 1950. He was a World War II veteran serving with the Army Engineering Corps. He built liberty ships in San Pedro, Calif., before joining the Army. Mr. Head was always active in the Spanish Missions and was a longtime deacon and elder for Churches of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and sons, John William Head in 1946 and Walter Young Head Jr. in 2003. Survivors: Wife of 69 years, Ethelene Curtis Head of Fort Worth; daughter, Sharon Head Gammon and husband, James, of Clovis, N.M.; son, Timothy Lawrence Head and wife, Bobbe, of Van Horn; daughters- in-law, Doris Matetzschk Head of Arlington and Trudie Smith Head of Cleburne; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
