Hellen C. Lester

Hellen C. Lester, 90, of Amarillo, died Friday, May 9, 1997.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements
are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle.

Mrs. Lester was born in Mounds, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo most of
her life. She married J.C. Lester in 1926. They owned Lester's Bakery, and
she was an Avon representative for 25 years.

She was a member of First Christian Church, and she and her husband were
founding members of the Congenial Couples Sunday School Class. Mr. Lester
died in 1978.

Survivors include a daughter, Rose McDowell of Amarillo; a son, Charles
Lester of Portales, N.M.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
and a great-great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials be to First Christian Church, 3001 Wolflin
Ave., Amarillo, Texas 79109.
