Published: Saturday, June 7, 2008 3:20 PM CDT Everett C. "Curly" Lee, of Sapulpa, went to be with his Heavenly Lord on Thursday, June 5, 2008, at the age of 78. He was born Dec 31, 1929, in Sapulpa to Clarence and Lizzie (Jackson) Lee. Curly has been a long-time resident of the Gypsy area and was well known for raising and selling watermelon. He was a great farmer and enjoyed the land. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley, and his beloved dog, Tiger, both of the home. He is also survived by five sons, Kenneth and wife, Trina, of Muskogee; Larry of Salina, Kan.; Sammy and wife, Brenda, of Wichita, Kan.; Dean and wife, Janice, of Beggs; Gary and wife, Sue, of Ketchum; one daughter, Shirl of Maize, Kan.; 14 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Curly is also survived by two sisters, Nellie Blair and Vida Mae Johnson, both of Sapulpa. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 10, at 10 a.m. in the Gypsy Holiness Church with the Revs. Larry Woods and John Brock officiating. The church is located eight miles south on Hwy 48 on Iron Post Road. Serving as pallbearers will be John Lee, Joe Lee, Scott Lee, Jason Lee, Bill Lee, Casey Lee, Charles Lee and Chris Lee. Honorary bearers will be Albert Blythe, Mark Blythe, Vernon Farley, Norman Burgett and Charles Duke.
