All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bakersfield Californian Fannie Mae Melson (Faye) Services: Friday, June 29, 10 a.m. Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, Friday, June 29, 2001 at 10 a.m. officiated by Major Marilee Estes of The Salvation Army. Faye, 69, passed away on June 22, 2001. She was born in Bristow, Oklahoma, May 21, 1932. She came to Bakersfield at a very young age. She was a waitress in different restaurants during her working years. Faye and her husband, Leroy, enjoyed traveling in their motorhome. They spent most of their time in Avila Beach at the Ocean Canyon Resorts. Faye assisted in management of the park and helped organize various activities at the resort. She enjoyed being around all of their family and friends. Faye is seven weeks preceded in death by her husband, Leroy. In January they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Gary Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Kathy Melson; grandchildren include: grandson, Gary Brown Jr and wife Janelle, grandson, Jason Brown and wife Lora, granddaughter, Jamie Brown; grandson, Wayne Melson and wife Nicole and granddaughter, Lora McDonald and husband Gary. Great grandchildren include: Bailee Brown and Shaley Mendrin, Blake and Blane Brown, Tanner and Caleb Melson and Chase McDonald. Pallbearers: Gary Brown Jr., Jason Brown, Wayne Melson and Tanner Melson. The family also wishes to thank all of their family and friends for the love, kindness and support that has been given in their time of need with Leroy and Faye.
