All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Duncan Banner 20 Aug 2002 James Andrew Mansker SULPHUR — James Andrew Mansker, 70, of Duncan died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, in the Veterans Center in Sulphur. No service is scheduled. Burial arrangements are under the direction of Mayes Funeral Home in Norman. Mr. Mansker was born June 27, 1932, in Drumright to Andrew and Phobe (Hodges) Mansker. He graduated from Stillwater High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served in the Navy from 1950 to 1964, including during the Korean Conflict. He recently received the 50-Year Anniversary Korean Medal. After retiring from the military, he worked from 1964 to 1984 at Oklahoma Refining Co. and from 1993 to 1996 at Duro Metals. He raised Appaloosa and quarterhorses at J.P. Anchor Ranch in Cyril from 1980 to 1992. Mr. Mansker enjoyed raising Blue Tick hounds and liked to take them out and watch them work. He also enjoyed reading, old cars, motorcycles and camping. Survivors include his wife, Pamela, of the home in Duncan; six children, Andrew James Mansker of Escondido, Calif., Janifer Marie Wiltse of San Marcos, Calif., Julie Ann McCormick of Duncan, Mary Beth Sunberg of Edwardsville, Ill., David Allen Hald of Oklahoma City, and Sally Cathryn Sinning of Miles, Iowa; a sister, Billie Laminack of Duncan; two brothers, Eugene Mansker of Duncan and Kenneth Mansker of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Dick; and three sisters, Helen, Vivian and Edna.
