He was born November 24, 1917, in Hanna, Oklahoma, the son of Guss and Lovie (Morgan) Martin. Martin had lived in Depew for the last 15 years and was a member of the Baptist church in Tulsa. During World War II, Martin served in the U. S. Army. On Aug. 21, 1947, he and Lois C. Van Horn were married in Tulsa. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, two sisters and one son, Herman Rowland. Survivors include his sister, Hazel Sumner of Ames, Okla.; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Rowland of Depew; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and many other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Stroud. The Rev. Joe Molencupp will officiate. Burial will be in Davenport Cemetery.
