All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Smith FH--Sapulpa OK Published November 08, 2007 Muskogee Phoenix Ruby Lee Massey-Flippo 1916 - 2007 Ruby Lee Massey-Flippo, 90, of Sapulpa, passed from this life on Monday, November 5, 2007 in the St. John Medical Center. Ruby was born on December 27, 1916 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Rudy Abshire-Flippo and Newton Flippo. Ruby lived in the Ardmore area as a child and married W.D. Massey on December 9, 1933. She had a great love for flower gardens and delighted in good old southern cooking. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren and being involved in family get-together's. She was a member of the Young At Hearts class at the First Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time at the Senior Citizens. Ruby retired from the education system in Muskogee. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband W.D. Massey, father Newton Flippo, mother Rudy Abshire, and sister Jewel. She is survived by children Dan Massey and wife Faye of Sapulpa, Barbara Vann. and husband Phillip of Alvin, Texas, grandchildren Sherrie Herwig, Barbara DeMoss, Mike Vann, and Susan Pannell, great- grandchildren Megan Stinson, Morgan Pannell, Frankie Pannell, Nicolas Vann, Erin Herwig, and Daniel Herwig. Services for Ruby have been set for Thursday, November 8,2007 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Sapulpa, with Reverend Doyle Pryor officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be Jeff Gilliland, Billy Long, Charles Dudley, Jay Orr, and David Teegarden.
