Pickering, Clyde Clyde Pickering, 77, of Amarillo, died Friday, May 8, 1998. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St. Cremation is by Schooler- Gordon Funeral Directors. Mr. Pickering was born in Sapulpa, Okla., and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1939. He was a Navy veteran of World War II where he received two Purple Hearts. He was a member of the Navy Seabees. Mr. Pickering was in construction and retired from the state of Hawaii school district. He was a member of International Order of Odd Fellows for more than 40 years, a past Noble Grand for I.O.O.F., and member of San Jacinto Lodge No. 210. Survivors include four cousins, Georgia Brumley and Earl Nix, both of Lebanon, Mo., Nellie Pickering of Laguna Hills, Calif., and Billy Jack Pickering of Amarillo. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be to Theta Rho San Jacinto Rebekahs No. 222, 4114 S. Harrison, Amarillo, Texas, 79110.
