ATTENTION! On Saturday, Aug. 26 2006 at 4:08 p.m., Ryan Roberts left this earth, to run into the arms of Jesus! Ryan was born on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1985 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Trailing in the blazes of Ryan's departure, he leaves behind his father, Aubrey Roberts of Sapulpa; mother and step-father, Tammy (Haley) and Curt Angel of Tulsa; sister Tandra (Mullins) Hoggatt of Tulsa; brother Jeremy Roberts of Sapulpa; and nephew Hunter Levi Hoggatt of Tulsa. Others on that trail included his grandma Karen Roberts of Sapulpa; his PaPa and Nana, Tandy and Wanda Haley of Sapulpa; great-grandma Thelma Harbin of Sapulpa; aunt Nita Ree and Uncle J.T. Ingram of Sapulpa; cousins Amanda and Brandon; aunt Lynne Linam and cousin Paul of Sapulpa; aunt Diane and uncle Chuck Morris, Kristi and Kacey of Cleveland. Ryan also left behind his girlfriend of six years, Jennifer Baker of Broken Arrow, as well as numerous other relatives and more friends than even he could count. Upon entering the gates of Heaven, Ryan was also greeted by his Grandpa Don Roberts, Grandpa Aubrey Harbin, Grandma Polly Shoun, Aunt Elizabeth Taylor, Uncle Bill Taylor, and countless other Christian relatives and friends. Ryan was one of the most genuine, honest, caring, giving, loving and talented young men a person could meet. He never met a person he didn't like, and would always help any and everyone he came in contact with. Ryan was a blessing to know. Ryan had the will to do anything he set his mind to. He accomplished every task he attempted and was proud when he did it. Ryan was a member of the Blue Blazed Marvels at Sapulpa High School and a member of Syncopation Jazz Choir. Ryan graduated from Sapulpa High School in May of 2004. While in choir, he was also a member of the All State High School Choir, singing in his beautiful baritone voice, getting superior ratings at his contests. After Ryan graduated from Sapulpa High, he became a member of the Tulsa Founder's Chorus, a men's a cappella vocal group. He sang the baritone part in it as well, wowing the audience with his performance. Another of Ryan's highlights in life was going to the MDA Summer Camp every year since he was 6. Every camp counselor he had remained friends with him for life. Ryan became a Christian when he was 12 years old, and was an active member of Kiefer Christian Church, being involved in every activity available. Ryan was one of the biggest fans OSU had. Even if he didn't know a member of the basketball or football team, he still knew every player's name. Shaquille O'Neal has lost his biggest fan. Ryan was the best son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle and friend a person could have. Every heart he touched will never forget him. We are all so proud of him. Our joy lies in the fact he will never need his wheelchair again! Ryan is singing in the Choir of Christ and playing basketball with anyone who will play! We are going miss him, but Praise God, we will see him again! Ryan has completed his Great Adventure, and now he is not having to imagine, but he is seeing clearly the love of our Lord and Savior. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home 1208 South Main. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 at Southside Christian Church, 406 W. Teel Road in Sapulpa. Pallbearers will be former MDA camp counselors, physical therapists and friends of the family. Ryan's family will be headquartering at his home in Sapulpa. We love you Ryan, and miss you so very much. You have made us extremely proud. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Creek County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/creek/creek.htm
