All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Highland Cemetery--Durant OK Razook, Sadie Naifeh Sadie Naifeh Razook Funeral services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church on Friday, July 2, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. for Sadie Razook, 83, of Durant, Oklahoma. Father James Blagg and Bro. Van Newton will officiate. Mrs. Razook died peacefully on Sunday, June 27, in her own home, with her daughter, grandchildren, and dearly loved family and friends at her side. The daughter of Ellis D. Naifeh and Zakia, she was born December 16, 1920 in Kiefer, Oklahoma. Unlike her parents and brother Charlie, who came to Oklahoma in 1919 from Judea Marjouin, Lebanon, Sadie was born in Kiefer, Oklahoma and resided with great pride in the state of Oklahoma all her life. Sadie was a favored daughter, niece and cousin to her many relatives. She adored family and raised her one daughter Roberta 'Robbi' primarily on her own after marriage to Lewis Razook ended in 1962. However, Sadie was 'like a mother' to her brother Charlie's four boys and she guided all her children's lives with forthright wisdom, laughter, and a devotion that knew no boundaries. Sadie's legacy does not include a list of club's, civic activities, or prestigious 'positions' in the community. However, the tribute to Sadie and her life will always be in her strong and enduring love for family and the host of longstanding friendships she cultivated over her many years. In her spare time, Sadie enjoyed reading, needlepoint, cooking and music. She was an avid dancer in her younger years and never lost her love for Jazz and the Big Band sound, so classically prevalent in her youth. Moving to Durant with her daughter Robbi, Sadie partnered with brother Charlie, Sister-in-law Bernice, their sons Ellis, Terry, Mike and Dennis in family businesses until her retirement in 1996. She will be remembered for helping to establish Naifeh's Steakhouse on Lake Texoma, as well as Naifeh's Emporium and later Naifeh's Western Wear in Durant, Oklahoma. Sadie loved the community of Durant and always believed the people she met here were, by far, the greatest people on earth. Sadie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and Charlie Naifeh and a cousin who was more like a sister, Selma Naifeh. Survivors include her daughter, Robbi, and her children, Benjamin, Jeremy and Alesha of Madison, WI; sister-in-law, Bernice Naifeh of Ada, Oklahoma; nephews, K. Ellis and his wife Vicki, and their sons, Zeak and Brandon of Ada, Oklahoma, Terry Robert, wife Kay and daughter Leilah, of Mead, Oklahoma, Michael Stephen and wife April and Mike's children Kimberly and Michael II of Durant, Hailey and Zoe Naifeh of Grandbury, Texas, and Carly of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Dennis George and wife Sheree' and children Kacey and Dennis George II, all of Durant and close friend, Patsy Naifeh. Nephews, Mike, Ellis and Dennis Naifeh. Great Nephews, Zeak, Brandon & Mike Naifeh II and Grandson Jeremy Potter will serve as pall bearers. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church or Alzheimer's Association, 6465 W. Yale, Suite 318, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136.
