All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Belmont Memorial Park--Fresno CA JOHN KOFFOED RONNE, II John Ronne, of Fresno, CA passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 12, 2006, at 12:07 p.m. He was 90 years old and born on March 22, 1916, to Harry Koffoed Ronne and Jessie Mae Shortridge Ronne of Drumsight, OK. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1934. On June 18, 1940, he married Marjorie Ruth West Ronne, the love of his life, at Bethel Temple Church. He attended Bethel (later named Bethel Christian Center) from the time he was 16 years old and was a Church Board Member numerous years. He and Marjorie were choir members there when they met and fell in love. They were happily married for 57 years and raised two children. He began working at McClatchy Broadcasting Network (KMJ radio) in 1945, and was an early T.V. pioneer for KMJ Channel 24. He was instrumental in installing the television transmitter on Bear Mountain in Squaw Valley which helped bring T.V. to Fresno. John retired in 1978. He enjoyed camping and traveling with his family. Also he was a Hospital Chaplain at University Medical Center and various other Fresno area hospitals for approximately 40 years. A favorite pastime of John's was being an amateur Ham Radio and C.B. Operator. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Work- ers and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. During his retirement years he and Marjorie traveled to the East Coast three times and to Canada twice. John was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Helen De Graw of Fresno; his brothers, Lewis Ronne and Owen Nelson of Fresno, and James Nelson of Long Beach; and his wife Marjorie. John is survived by his daughter, Nancy Borders and her husband Jerry of Dunlap, CA; daughter, Katherine Koch and her husband Russell of Fresno; grandchildren, Julie McAllister and her husband David of Fresno, Jennifer Zamora of Fresno, and Jack Borders of Dunlap; and great-granddaughters, Janae and Emily McAllister of Fresno. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be held at Advantage Funeral Services in Fresno on Thursday, May 18, 2006, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park (by the Bell Tower) on Friday, May 19, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances for John, be made to Bethel Christian Center, 4665 N. First St., Fresno, CA 93726.
