All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Bakersfield Californian 23 September 2003 NELLIE ROMINE 4/24/1932 - 9/20/2003 Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 24, at Delano Mortuary Chapel, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 25, 1:00 p.m., Delano Mortuary Chapel, 707 Browning Road, Delano. Graveside service will be held Friday, September 26, 11:00 a.m. at Winton Cemetery, in Winton, CA. Nellie Romine was born in Depew, Oklahoma, on April 24, 1932, and she passed away on September 20, 2003, in Delano. She settled in the California area in 1949. She lived in the Atwater area for 46 years and 8 years in the Delano area. She was a volunteer for the American Legion Auxiliary #124 of Delano. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Grace Jones; brothers, Bobby Leon Jones, Eli Jones, Jesse Jones, William Paul Jones. She is survived by her children, Richard Lee Jones Romine of Merced, Raymond Romine of Atwater, Barbara Lingenfelter of Delano, Clyde Edward Romine, Jr., of Parlier, Tim Leon Romine of Turlock, Carol Sue Schaapveld of Oklahoma, Roger Eric Romine of Atwater, brother, David Jones, Jr., of Oklahoma; sisters Betty Frances Kimble, Alice Fay Bruner and Joyce Jennings all of Oklahoma; 22 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; close friend and companion LC King of Delano and his children, Kimala, Mary Elizabeth, Teddy, Terry, Larry, Theresa and Kay. The family would like to extend a special note of appreciation to Dr. Salmassi and staff for the special devoted care given, also to Mary Lou and Penny of the Odyssey Health Care of Bakersfield. Nellie was truly blessed with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the many wonderful friends who added much happiness and joy to her life. Special love and thanks to LC King for making mom's life so special during her last few years. Nellie has touched the lives of many individuals who will miss her so dearly. Our family thanks you.
