Lucille Rodgers March 16, 1914 - March 31, 2007 Resident of Antioch Passed away in her sleep at age 93 after a short illness. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, had lived in Antioch since 1958. Born in Texas, she graduated from high school in Sapulpa, Oklahoma in 1932. Married to Paul E. Rodgers in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, in 1938, the gifted seamstress became a full time homemaker and mother of four. The family had many camping vacations and Lucille and Paul traveled in their van and motorhome throughout the U.S. for nearly 30 years in retirement. Lucille is survived by her four children; Carol Russell of Oakley; James (Margaret) Rodgers of Fresno; Vaughn (Pam) Rodgers of West Salem, WI; Mark (Pamela) Rodgers of Antioch; six grandchildren; DeAnne Gibney of Antioch, Kasey (Brooke) Claiborne of Oakley; Ron (Justine) Russell; of Oakley; Jeff (Jennifer) Rodgers of Aurora, CO; Jolene (Curt) Melton of Fresno; Greg (Vicki) Rodgers of Aptos. Eleven great-grandchildren; Dylan and Tanner Gibney; Maxwell and Kade Rodgers; Cassidy and Cooper Melton; Katrina and Caralyn Russell; Georgia and Summer Claiborne and Andrew Steven Rodgers. Lucille was preceded in death by beloved husband of 63 years, Paul E. Rodgers; grandson, Andrew Allen Rodgers and brothers, Ernest Lee and Oscar Lee. Family and Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, April 9, 2007 from 5 - 8 p.m., followed by a Memorial service on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 11 a.m., at Higgins Chapel, 1310 "A" St., in Antioch. A Private family burial will be held at Memory Gardens in Concord.
