::Memorial Park Cemetery--Amarillo TX

Vera Logan Stephenson

Vera Logan Stephenson, 77, of Amarillo died Wednesday, June 8, 2005.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park East Mausoleum. 
Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.

Our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all was born in 
Drumright, Okla., on May 22, 1928. She moved to Amarillo in 1978 with her 
beloved husband, F.M. "Steve" Stephenson, and would enjoy throughout her 
days our cool dry summer evenings beneath her pecan trees.

A member of Polk Street Methodist Church, Vera truly lived a life of faith 
and service to others. Our family can in no way fully express our thanks 
to Vera's many dear friends for your faithful friendship and kind, 
attentive care and aid extended these many years. She held each and every 
one of you dear in her heart.

Befitting her remarkable culinary talent and love of family, Thanksgiving 
Day was Vera's favorite day. Although severely blinded by stroke, she 
continued to amaze all at her table with her flawless feasts that were 
nothing short of "picture perfect," executed seamlessly and served with 
her delightful good cheer. What a privilege.

Survivors include a son, Robert L Stephenson and wife, Cindy, of Amarillo; 
a daughter, Jan Mankin and husband, Jarrette, of Edmond, Okla; and four 
grandchildren, Katy and Nikki Stephenson and Stephen and Allison Mankin.

The family suggests memorials be to American Heart Association.
