Temple Sr. 1937 - 2006 Bennie N. Temple Sr. Services: Wed., Jan. 18, 10:00 a.m. Bennie Nathan Temple Sr. of Bakersfield, CA and Bristow, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 13, 2006, in Bakersfield, CA, at the age of 68 years. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 27, 1937, to Lonnie Temple and Dorothy Donahue Temple. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Deloris; his children, Bennie Temple Jr. (Robbie), Darlene Tatum (Mike), Connie Freeman (Robby), all of Bakersfield, CA and Mary Carpenter (Larry) of Centralia, WA; stepchildren, Don Carter (Michele), Larry Carter, Linda Bear and Anita Gonzalez, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brothers, Larry, Bobby, Mike and sisters, Gail, Donna and Barbra, all of Indiana. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Helen Temple, mother of his children, and Jackie Temple, his second wife, also several brothers and sisters, all of Indiana. Bennie worked many occupations in his life including elephant trainer in the circus. He was also a truck driver, worked in the oilfields and home maintenance. He had a love for traveling and had traveled extensively. He visited all of the lower 48 states and had been in Mexico and Canada. Ben had a great love for adventure and really enjoyed people of all ages, especially his family, who were his best friends. Services will be Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., at Trinity Life Chapel, 5721 W. Norris Rd., in Bakersfield. Burial will be in Arvin Cemetery, in Arvin, CA.
