Tassey, Helen Marine (Scott)

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, May 1st, at 
Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, for Helen Tassey, 85, 
who passed away in Bakersfield. Helen was born in Tuskegee, Oklahoma 
on May 18, 1921. She moved to California and settled in Oildale where 
she lived for 52 years. Helen is preceded in death by her first 
husband of 49 years, Orval E. Scott, and her second husband of 10 
years, Abe Tassey; and her son, Doyle Wayne Scott, who passed away in 
1981. She is survived by daughter, Charlotte Lin Tharp of 
Bakersfield; and son, Donald Glenn Scott of Columbia, Mississippi; 
along with sister, Opal Bennett of El Cajon, California. Helen is the 
Grandmother of 9, Mark Scott, Darren Scott, Mike Tharp, Dana 
Gradowitz, Tiry Scott, Jill Lewis, Cathy Gatermann, Wayne Scott, 
Robert Scott. Also, she is Great-Grandmother of 23 plus one on the 
way this coming October. Helen was called Nanny by all that knew and 
loved her. Nanny loved the Lord and has gone on to be with Him. She 
will be greatly missed but not forgotten Visitation will be held on 
Monday, April 30th, from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., at Mish Funeral Home, 
120 Minner Ave., in Bakersfield.  Helen Marine (Scott) Tassey May 18,
