Hocker ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Manley Thompson Estes, Thomas, OK Surnames: Estes, Robards, Roderick, Fielden, Moffat OBITUARY Manley Thompson Estes was born February 28, 1875 in Noble, Illinois, to Mr. and Mrs. Lebulan {Zebulan} Estes. He departed. this life May 9, 1955, at the he age of 80 years, 2 months and 9 days in the home of his son. Mr. Leonard {Lennard} Estes, who lives in Gardenia. California, In 1902, he came to 0klahoma to homestead a farm near Leedy. Later he moved to Thomas where he met, married Miss Maude Mofat {Moffat}. To this union were born three children, the son in whose home he died, and two daughters, Mrs. Fern Williams of Oden, Arkansas, and Mrs. Ruby Sisk of Oklahoma City. He is survived by his children, one brother, Mr. George Roderick, Upton, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Burch, of Mountain Grove, Mo.: three grandchildren, Mrs. R. C. {R.O.} Hocker, Mr. Ike Sisk and Mrs. Vera Brown. He was a member of the Church of God in Leedy. Those who knew him best say, "He was a good man," this is a great tribute to any man. Besides his relatives, he leaves many neighbors and friends to mourn his departure from this life. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord," Rev. 14:13 Funeral Services were held Saturday, May 14 in the First Baptist Church of Thomas with Rev. J. A. Land officiating. Burial was in Mound Valley Cemetery with Lockstone Funeral home in charge of arrangements. ------ 000 ------ CARD OF THANKS We would like to express our sincere thanks for the many cards, flowers and other acts of kindness extended to us since the death of our beloved father, Manley T. Manley's mother, Catherine Eliza Robards, married three times. Much information is available concerning the families of her second and third husbands (Hiram Roderick and Richard Columbus Fielden).
