He passed away August 30, 2010 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years and 17 days. Johnny grew up in Arapaho and graduated from high school and began woring for the ASCS offie in Custer County. He was married to Ruby Jolene Haney at Clinton, Oklahoma on June 18, 1950. They lived in Guymon, Oklahoma and in 1955 they moved to Buffalo Oklahoma. They later moved to Ft. Morgan, Colorado before moving back to Guymon and then to Cheyenne Oklahoma in 1967 to make their home After his retirement he was extremely actie in community activities and served on the Roger Mills County Fair Board and the Excise Board. He could always be seen helping the youngsters with their 4-H and FFA projects. The past 10 years he was active in helping his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Cindy, in Grants Auctio and Realty. He was a member of the Cheyenne First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 1 sister, Dorothy Miles. He is survived by 3 daughters, Cindy Atha and husband, Allen of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Teresa Grant of Weatherford Oklahoma; and Candy Howell and husband, Jimmy of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; 1 son, Mike Grant and wife, Cindy of Elk City, Oklahoma; 1 brother, Glenn Grant and wife, Anna Lee of Clinton, Oklahoma; 3 sisters, Rubye Wright of Ft. Worth, Texas; Ethel Mae Ferguson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Carol Stockto and husband, Bill of Fairview, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren, Darren Atha and wife, Marka; Michael Grant and wife, Robin; Dusty Grant and wife, Lisa; Kelly Manke and husband, Brandon; Kent Quattlebaum and wife, Samantha; Nathan Meget and wife, Shea; Jared Meget and wife, Ashley; Jase Meget; Dawn Kring and husband, Nathan; Colby Cockrell and Colby Howell; 8 great grandchidren, Emma, Carson, Eden, Tyler, Grayson, Wade, Trey and Conner; and special friend, Norma Pratt of Clinton, Oklahoma and a host of other relaties and friends. Servies will be held Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 2 pm. at Cheyenne First Baptist hurch officiated by Aubrey Cowan. Burial will be at Arapaho cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
