Howenstine, 78, Arapaho resident were held Wednesday, March 18, 2009 in the First United Methodist Church of Arapaho, officiated by Rev. Kent Wood and burial followed at the Arapaho cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home. Maralyn Lee (Orgain) Howenstine born February 24, 1931 to George L. Orgain and Opal (Wagnon) Orgain in Clinton, Oklahoma and passed away Saturday morning, March 14, 2009 in the Mercy Health Syatem in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Maralyn was raised in Stillwater and when she was young she was a rainbow girl and was a member of the National Honor Society. She graduated from High School in 1949. She continued her education at Oklahoma State University for two years. She married Mr. W.C. Howenstine on June 17, 1950. She was employed with Midwest Creamery Company Sooner Life Insurance and Sequoya National life Insurance before moving to Arapaho in 1972. Along with her husband W.C. they ran the insurance and Tag agent in Arapaho for a number of years. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Arapaho, she is a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and she enjoyed crocketing, knitting and tatting. She proceeded in death by her parents, and aunt Dove Carlisle. She is survived by her husband, W.C., of the home; daughters, Cynthia Lax, Clinton, Oklahoma; Heather Howensteine, Clinton, and Maralee Wassana, Clinton, Oklahoma and two sons, Cy Howenstine, IV, Cheyenne and Sean Howenstine, Clinton. She is also survived by eight children.
