The graveside service was held at Deschutes Memorial Gardens. She was born Lydia Hoeffner on Feb. 9, 1911, in Custer City, Okla. On March 6, 1932, in Campo, Colo., she married Carl Helkey, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Helkey was a homemaker. She was a member of the 4th Avenue Baptist Church in Redmond. Mrs. Helkey enjoyed her family, church, reading and crocheting. Survivors include three sons, Arthur C., Logsten, John G. Lowell, and David D., Port Angeles, Wash.; three daughters, Margaret M. Easterbrook and Lorene L. McCormick, both Medford, and Darlene J. Uhden, Maupin; and three sisters, Polda Stagner, in Colorado, Eda Wiest, and Clara Mills, Corvallis. Arrangements: Deschutes Memorial Funeral Home.
