The memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at Central Point Community Bible Church. Pastor Pete Slusher will officiate. Mrs. Britton, 94, of Central Point, died Wednesday (Dec. 26, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Point Community Bible Church, 500 N. 10th St., Central Point, OR 97502. She was born May 27, 1907, in Thomas, Okla., a daughter of William and Mary (Eaton) Pope. One of 11 children, she was raised on a wheat ranch and learned to bake and garden. On Dec. 23, 1925, in Frederick, Okla., she married Raymond Eugene Britton, who died in 1995. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1939 from Texas. Mrs. Britton was a homemaker. She also managed property for Tom Vella for 40 years, did day care for many years and baked many wedding cakes. She was a member of the Rogue Valley Rogue Runners and the Good Sam Club and was a charter member of the Central Point Community Bible Church. Mrs. Britton enjoyed handicrafts, her garden and cooking. Friends and family considered her the "best cook in the West." Friends may pay their respects from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Mortuary. Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation and Funeral Care, Central Point.
