Don was born in Clinton, Oklahoma on June 7, 1940 to David and Helen Rolison. Growing up, he and his family were involved in the Clinton Round-Up Club, where Don developed a passion for Country Western music. He was a three year letterman and All-Conference player for the Clinton High School football team. Don attended East Texas University and the University of Tulsa. After college, Don married his high school sweetheart, Sally Chittum, on August 26, 1960. Don worked 35 years in the drywall and acoustical business in Tulsa as a partner in Curtis Acoustics, A-Best Supply and Advance Drywall. Before his retirement in 1996, he was president of Advance Drywall. Don held the position of president for the Utica Square Kiwanis Club, Tulsa Executives Association and Associated Builders & Contractors. He sat on the board of directors for Kiwanis Club of Tulsa Southeast. Don was also awarded the first ever "Roy Martin Hard Hat Award for Humanitarian Services in the Construction Industry". Don was a member of Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church, where he once served as a trustee. Don and Sally enjoyed traveling. Together they visited many cities in the U.S., as well as Europe, Russia, China, and Mexico. He also enjoyed rooting for OU football. Don coached his son's little league soccer and football teams. Outside of sports, Don loved to sing. He would sing in the shower, at church, anytime, anywhere - loud and often! Don took great pride in the musical accomplishments of his children. Don will be truly missed by all those blessed by knowing him. To know him was to love him. Memorial services are to be held at Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church on May 25, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Kiwanis Club of Tulsa Southeast Scholarship Fund at 3327 South Knoxville, Tulsa, OK 74135.
