Boggs ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Surnames: Smith BITS: Mr. Charles William Smith, son of William Wesley and Bonnie (Ford) Smith, was born in Weatherford, Oklahoma on November 12 1934. He died very unexpectedly early Monday morning, May 15, 1989 at Southwestern Memorial Hospital in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He was 54 years, 6 months, 3 days old. Charlie was raised in the Weatherford, Oklahoma area and attended Weatherford Public Schools, graduating from High School in 1952. He later attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University for one year. After school he went to work for Lyle Sensintaffer and Earl Hodges. He was married it Miss Carlene Holcomb on November 16, 1957 in Clinton, Oklahoma. They made their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma. In 1967 he went to work for the Weatherford Postal Office and he had worked there for over 20 years. He was still active at the time of his death. Charlie Smith was never one to sit still. He always had things to fix or fish to catch. Everyone who knew him enjoyed his bright eyes and flashing white smile as he told his fishing stories. He wil be missed by all, but you can bet he's still "gone fishin." He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford OK. He is survived by his wife, Carlene Smith of the home; two daughters, LaDonna Haynes and her husband Jackie, Weatherford, Oklahoma; Carla Maddox and her husband Cody, Sentinel, Oklahoma; one grandson Clint; his mother Bonnie Smith, Weatherford, Oklahoma; two brothers, Gene Smith, Arco, Idaho and John Smith , Thomas, Oklahoma; two sisters Mary Ellen Smith, Tulsa, Oklahomaand Loretta Almond, Tracy, California. He was preceded in death by his father, William Wesley Smith on April 29, 1953.
