Smith passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2007. She was born in Moorewood, Oklahoma on November 3, 1926. She was the youngest of 11 children born to Elza and Sophia Bell, all preceding her in death. She married Earl W. Smith on February 28, 1946. That same year they moved to Fresno. Earl preceded her in death in 1976. During her many years here in Fresno, she was involved in many things. She was active at Sonrise Church as the president of the Seniors Sunday School class. She was also involved with a group of ladies who used to meet monthly for devotion and missions work. They helped the Fresno Rescue Mission and other missions throu- ghout the world. This group of ladies had been meeting monthly for over 30 years. Many of her friends in this group have preceded her in death. Mom was also a great dessert maker. Everyone always asked for her recipes. Mom was retired from Fresno Unified School District where she worked as a custodian at Easterby Elementary School and Kings Canyon Middle School. After she retired, she enjoyed traveling on bus trips. She is survived by her children, Lloyd Smith and his wife Tanya, Harlie Smith and his wife Marcia, and Earlene Courtney. She has five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There will be a Viewing of Annie at Lisle Funeral Home on Saturday, April 28, 2007, and Sunday, April 29, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the John N.
