Maxine Mozell Black was born on October 26, 1936, in Colcord, OK. She married, Walter Black in 1953 in Collinsville and together they raised 6 children. Her life revolved around her family, especially her grandkids. Maxine passed from this life on Saturday, December 2, 2006 in Tulsa. She was preceded in death by: her son, Jackie; parents, Newton Linn, and Opal and Ray Johnson; brothers, Roy and Harvey Johnson; and sister, Bessie Johnson. Maxine is survived by: her husband, Walter; grandson, Steven; and son, Dean of the home; Lester and Cindy Black of Afton, Shelly and Glen Beck of Beggs, Dewayne and Betty, Carol, Paula and Robert all of Tulsa; 32 grandkids; and 30 great-grandkids. Also surviving, sister, Judy Pigg of Claremore; and brothers, William Johnson of Jay, Troy Johnson of Tulsa, Al Johnson of Owasso, and Bobby Johnson of Locust Grove. A Funeral service will be held in her honor at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 5, in the Moore's Eastlawn Chapel. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Moore's Eastlawn Chapel, 622-1155.
