All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Grove (OK) Sun LAWSON "BO" BOHANNAN Lawson "Bo" Bohannan, 86, passed from this life on June 6, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 10 at Grand Lake Baptist Church, Grove with Rev. Larry Moore officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday at Parris Cemetery near Tahlequah. Visitation is from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, June 9 at Ellis Family Funeral Home. He was born on May 12, 1917 near Eureka Springs, Arkansas, one of 13 children to Thomas and Sarah (Houston) Bohannan. He was a veteran of W.W.II serving in the US Army from January 20, 1941 until September 28, 1944, with the Third Division of the 30th Infantry, stationed in Africa, Sicily and Italy. He was a fireman in California Twenty-nine Palms, Santa Ana and at the Navy Ammunition Depot in Fallbrook, Calif. He was retired on a medical at the age of 42 years. During his time in California, he came to know the Lord as his Savior and served at Bonsall Community Church as Trustee, Deacon and Carpenter. After moving to Oklahoma in 1971 from Escondido, Calif, loss of hearing kept him from serving as he would have liked. He was a life member of DAV and National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees, a former member of the VFW and a member of the Grand Lake Baptist Church in Grove. He was married to Pauline Parris for 57 years. Survivors include his wife, Pauline, Grove, two sons, Tommy Lee Bohannan and wife, Connie of Grove and Jerry L. and wife, Brenda of Gallatin, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Tammy Leigh Ward of Ponder, Texas; one step grandson, Jason Lindstrom of Laramie, Wyoming; one brother, Virgel Bohannan of Sun City, Calif.; four sister, Mable Craft of Costa Mesa, Calif, Goldie Ottesen and Opal House both of Mesa, Ariz. and jean Bohannan of Concord, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four bothers, Lewis, Claude, Van and Morris and three sisters, Ruth Martin, Nancy Searles and Robbie Lee Nelms. Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Lake Baptist Church, Grove or your favorite charity.
