Bruton STATESMAN JOURNAL, SALEM, OREGON Feb. 3, 1928 — March 31, 2001 LYONS — Ted Bruton, 73, died Saturday. He was born in Leach, (DELAWARE CO.)Okla., and moved to Oregon in 1935. He moved to Silverton in the early 1940s and served in the Marine Corps. He attended Merritt Davis Business School and lived in Redmond for 15 years. In 1972 he moved to Stayton and in 1976 to Lyons. He enjoyed prospecting, stamp collecting and woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Pearl, whom he married in 1949; daughters, Linda Bruton of Richmond, Calif., Sharon Erickson of South Haven, Minn., and Teresa Sherman of Albany; son, Ted of Lake Oswego; brother, Jake of New Mexico; sisters, Lois Bruton of Redmond, Zetta Stubblefield of Oakridge, Vernis Moore of Amarillo, Texas, and Joyce Gatchet of California; and five grandchildren. Visiting will be noon to 8 p.m. today at Weddle Funeral Home, Stayton. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Canyon Baptist Church, where he was a member. Interment will be at Fox Valley Cemetery.
