All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Grove (OK) Sun MABEL MAE BARNETT February 5, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held at Turner Funeral Home in Jay, Okla. on Tuesday, February 4, at 5 p.m. She lived the last six and one half years in Bossier City, La., home of her son. She is survived by her son, J.C. Barnett and wife, Phyllis, of Bossier City, La.; grandchildren Kay Johnson and husband, James, of Ft. Worth, Texas, Sandy Adams and husband, Jay, of Pecan Gap, Texas, David Barnett and wife, Becki, of Collierville, Tenn., and Peggy Bamburg and husband, Bruce, of Shreveport. La.; four great-great grandchildren and three great-great-great grandchildren; two half brothers, Orma Crank and Joe Crank; and one half sister, Ida Bell Crank. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonas C. Barnett, and one daughter, Margie Adams. She was instrumental in developing the Jay Senior Center and was the director for many years. She was a school teacher in both the Illinois and Oklahoma system, dating back to 1922, in the early years teaching in one- room schools.
