Viewing will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday March 2nd, 2006. Lillie Castro was born August 27, 1936 to Jacob and Eliza Arneecher in Salina, OK. She was baptized on July 9th, 1965 at the First Indian Baptist Church in Muskogee, OK. She attended Oaks School in Oaks, OK where she was a top student and an exceptional basketball player. She graduated from Oaks School in 1955. After graduation, she moved to Bakersfield and has been a resident here since that time. Lillie was employed at Truxtun Manor Retirement Home for 25 years. Lillie is preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Eliza Arneecher; her brothers - Joe Arneecher; Sam Arneecher; Ned Arneecher; her sister - Lena Cobb. She is survived by her loving husband Albert Castro; her son Alan Castro and his wife Tracey; her granddaughters Stacey and Jennifer Castro; and her great-grandsons Damian Moreno and Nathan Mendez; sisters Dora Grayson and Bettie Lou Gifford. Lillie is also survived by her extended family - daughters and their spouses Annie and Bob Welch; Rosie and Robert Espinoza; sons and their spouses - Zeke and Carmen Castro; Jake and Lydia Castro; Johnny and Mary Castro; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Lillie was a loving, caring person who touched the lives of many people - strangers as well as family members. She will always be loved and remembered.
