All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Duncan Banner 9 Feb 2003 Julie Ann 'Judy' Conway GROVE - Julie Ann "Judy" Conway, 72, of Grove, formerly of Oakley, Kan., died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, in the Grove Nursing Center, from ocular melanoma. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at Grove, with Father Alex Kennedy officiating. Rosary services will be at 6 p.m. today in the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oakley, with Father Roger Meitl officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home in Oakley. Judy was born March 10, 1930, near Sterling, to John and Ida (Doebel) Fehring. She grew up in the Sterling area, attending Sterling schools and graduating from high school in 1948. She married Alvin Conway on Oct. 1, 1949, in Our Lady's Church in Sterling. For the next 45 years, she lived on a farm near Oakley, where she helped Alvin with the farm and the Grade A dairy they operated for years. In 1994, they retired and moved to Grove. Mrs. Conway was a member of St. Elizabeth Church and Altar Society in Grove and a member of St. Joseph's Church, Altar Society and Daughter of Isabella, all in Oakley. Survivors include her husband, Alvin, of the home. Also surviving are six children and their families, Ron and Ronda Conway and their children, John Jeff, Megan and Melissa Conway, all of Holcomb, Kan.; Don and Judy Conway and their son, Shaun, of Dodge City, Kan.; Jeanne and Kenneth Janzen and their children, Kevin and Sarah, all of Krebs; Kenny Conway and his friend, Trisha, of St. Mary's, Kan.; Dennis and JoAnn Conway and their children, Amy and Jennifer, all of Garden City, Kan.; and Patricia "Pat" Waldman and her children, Krista and Chase Waldman, all of Grinnel, Kan. Also, a brother, Richard Fehring of Hastings; four sisters, Mary Ann Conway and Evelyn Jacobi, both of Duncan, Catherine Schettler of Elgin and Alice Baldon of Denver, Colo. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael; her parents; and a brother, Bernard.
