All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Chandler, Stacy B. Stacy B. Chandler, 85, died peacefully at his Dallas home Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005. Memorial service: 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 12521 Inwood Road at Harvest Hill. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to All Saints Catholic Church, 5231 Meadowcreek Drive, Dallas 75248, (972) 661-9282. A man of tireless patience and unwavering integrity, Stacy established standards as a husband and father that all who knew him wished to emulate. Born Feb. 12, 1920, in Cleora, Okla., Stacy was raised on a farm, which bred in him a work ethic and independent spirit that were hallmarks of his character throughout his life. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II as a navigator aboard PBY Catalina seaplanes. He married his wife, Marilyn, in Chicago, Ill., in 1948. Four years and one son later, they moved to Fort Worth, where he worked as a quality control engineer for General Dynamics for 40 years. Traveling often in his work, his wit and affability made him a favorite with airline crews. He was always happiest, however, when surrounded by his family. He was a regular volunteer and supporter at his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. Annual fishing trips with his grown sons became a tradition that spanned 15 years, to destinations ranging from Costa Rica to the Canadian Northwest Territories. Survivors: Wife, Marilyn; sons, Van and his wife, Debbie, Mark and his wife, June, Glenn, and Don and his wife, Tricia; daughter, Natalie and her husband, Geoff; and grandchildren, Jamie, Kristin and Lori Chandler, Blake and Phillip Osborn, and Kathleen Chandler. Published in the Star-Telegram on 9/30/2005. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Delaware County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/delaware/delaware.html
