All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Ballard Cemetery--Bernice OK The Grove Sun Daily Ethel Virginia Davis 1921-2005 BERNICE, Okla. - Ethel Virginia Davis, 83, of Bernice, died April 9 in Grove, Oklahoma. Davis was born May 4, 1921 in El Dorado, Kansas, to James Ralph and Loy Etta (Wall) Cherryholmes. She grew up and attended school in El Dorado, graduating El Dorado High School in 1939. She married Harold L. Davis August 26, 1939 in Augusta, Kansas, who preceded her in death June 19, 1996. Davis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a homemaker, taking wonderful care of her family through the years. Hobbies she enjoyed included dolls, sewing, playing cards, camping, and working puzzles. She attended Wayside Bible Church in Bernice. Survivors include her loving daughters, Brenda Jean Wilson of Bernice and Ginger Lee Reiff of Wichita, Kansas. She is also survived by a brother, Kenneth Cherryholmes of Newton, Kansas; a sister, Loy Etta; grandchildren Teri Rae Kennedy, Toni Gay Wolpe, Michal Winfield Stewart, and Ryan Davis Stewart; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her son Ray Davis in 2001, her son-in-law Larry Reiff in 2002, two brothers, and a sister. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12 at Ballard Cemetery in Bernice, with Rev. Gene Jones officiating.
