"BILL" EDWARDS 1927-2005 GROVE, Okla. - William W. "Bill" Edwards, 78, Retired Budget Director of The Coleman Company, passed away Saturday, October 15 at Grove, Oklahoma. He was on Hole #1 at the Patricia Island Country Club golf course at the time of his unexpected death. Mr. Edwards was born July 7, 1927 in Paradise, Kansas to Warren B. & Violet M. Kirkpatrick Edwards. His senior year at Manhattan High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following his return, he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Kansas State University. He was a lifelong member of Kansas State University Alumni Association. Mr. Edwards was united in marriage to Joan Bond on June 9, 1951 in Wichita, KS. First position out of college was with J.C. Penney Company. 1955, he joined The Coleman Company in Wichita where he retired in 1989. Following retirement, he became active in Senior Core of Retired Executives (SCORE) and the board of Directors of United Way. He was a longtime active member of Hillside Christian Church, Bestor G. Brown Lodge #433 A.F. & A. M., Wichita Scottish Rite Consistory, and Midian Shrine Temple where he was past president of the Touchdowners Club, and Past President, Wichita Chapter, National Association of Accountants. Survived by wife, Joan of the home in Wichita, Son & Daughter In Law, Thomas Warren & Valerie Edwards of Frisco, Texas, Brother, Kenneth Edwards of Topeka, Kansas, Sister, Katherine Heathman of Tucson, Arizona, Grandson, Gage of Frisco, Texas, Step-Grandchildren, Stephen & Deborah Levin. Preceded in death by parents and daughter Cynthia Edwards Levin. Memorial Services will be Thursday, October 21, 11 A.M. at the Hillside Christian Church, 8303 East Douglas, with Dr. Bill McConnell, officiating with burial in Old Mission Cemetery. Memorials have been established in Bill Edwards name with Plane of Mercy Fund c/o Midian Temple Shrine, 130 N. Topeka, Wichita, KS 67202 and Hillside Christian Church, 8330 E.
