All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Adcock FH--Fairland OK The Grove Sun Daily Virginia Lee (Black) Elliott 1923-2005 Fairland, Okla. - Virginia Lee (Black) Elliott of Fairland, Okla. died Monday, April 18, 2005 at Integris Hospital in Grove. She was 82. Virginia was born March 25, 1923 in Delaware County, Okla. On October 4, 1941, she married Elton Elliott, making their home in Fairland, Okla. Virginia spent her early career at Afton Memorial Hospital, the also worked several years for O'Briens and Green Country Cafe. Survivor include: her daughter, Mary Maxson of Fairland, six grandsons; Larry Dale Maxson of Joplin, Luke Elliott and wife, Lou Ann of Fairland, Matt Elliott of Norman and Brandon Elliott and wife, Crystal of Joplin; and one grand- daughter, Lora Beers and her husband, Reece of Tulsa. Virginia also is survived by four sisters; Lucille Killion, Joy Pair, Geraldine Dixon, all of Grove, and Yvonne Cunningham of Jay and a host of nieces and nephews. Great Grandmother Virginia will be greatly missed by her seven great-grandchildren; Elyssabeth, Kegon, Cortni, Alexsandra, Haleigh, Emileigh, and Cayden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton in 1994, two sons; J. L. Elliott in 1973, and Robert Elliott in 1977, two grandsons; Robbie Maxson in 1983 and Bobby Gibson in 1983; her father, Luscian Black in 1982, her mother, Laura Black in 1994, three sisters; Doris Keener in 1993, Dora Mae Jackson in 1993 and Rose Pearson in 2000; two brothers, Charles (Sonny) in childhood, and Claude Black in 1970. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2005 at First Baptist Church in Fairland, Okla. with Rev. Andy Krebs officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation for family and friends well be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
