HODGES 1941-2005 GROVE, Okla. – Gearld E. Hodges, 63, went to be with Jesus on August 24, 2005 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. He was born on December 31, 1941 in Success, Arkansas to Lela Samons and Norman Hodges. Gearld married Mary Lindenmeier in Rockford, Illinois on April 3, 1965. They moved to Grove in 1979 where they enjoyed and raised their children. Gearld worked as a welder most of his life, but the last two years he worked, he was a meat cutter for the IGA Store in Grove. He retired in 1987 due to a disability. Gearld was a member of Independent House of Worship in Grove. Survivors include his wife, Mary and his mother, Lela Davis both of the home; sons, Terry Hodges of Charleston, Missouri, Mike Hodges and wife Sherry of Grove, Jimmy Hodges and wife Michelle of Grove; daughter, Nikki Lewis and husband John of Grove; a special daughter Kathy Hodges of Grove; 22 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; 5 sisters, Barbara Clutts and husband Larry of Morton, Illinois, Emma Parsons and husband Kenneth of Syracuse, Indiana, Cathey Moore and husband Ronnie of Grove, Jan Doye of Stillwell, Ok., and Anita Barnes and husband Rick of Grove. He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, a daughter, a niece, a nephew and one grandson, David. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, August 29, 2005 at Worley-Luginbuel Chapel with Kenneth Cope officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Grove. Military rites will be performed by the Grove Veterans Ritual Team. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
