All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::McLaughlin Cemetery--Delaware County OK The Grove Sun Daily Pharis Joe Hill 1930-2005 Pharis Joe Hill, 75 of Cleora passed away early Friday, October 7, 2005 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. Pharis was born on January 18, 1930 in Tahlequah to Eli and Addie (Sims) Hill. On September 10, 1955 in Vinita Pharis was united in marriage to Nancy A. Woodall and from this union they had four children. Pharis served his country in the United States Air Force as an Airman 1st Class during the Korean War. After his military service Pharis became a schoolteacher. He taught in Afton and Saline Public Schools. Pharis liked working in his garden, fishing and working on his farm. He was a member of the Cleora Baptist Church and the D. A. V. Pharis leaves us surviving his wife Nancy Hill of the home. Children Janet Gibbs and husband Joe of Rose Hill, KS., Cindy Lloyd and husband Butch of Ellsworth, KS., Curtis Hill and wife Tammy of Afton, Chet Hill and wife Stephanie of Claremore and Ten grandchildren and one great- grandchild. Three sisters, Cliva Erwin and husband Rexal of Pryor, Maxine Cagle and husband John also of Pryor, Willa Sabala and husband Ferman of Tulsa. One aunt, Alta Stacy and husband Carl of Tahlequah. Pharis was preceded in death by both of his parents, one grand child, one brother and three sisters. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 10, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at McLaughlin Cemetery with Bob Parkins officiating.
