"JUNIOR" HORINE, JR. 1919-2005 GALENA, Kan. - Alva Devers Horine, Jr., 85 year old resident of Grove, Okla., formerly of Galena, Kan., died Saturday, January 15, 2005 at 2:40 a.m. at Emarld Pointe in Galena. A.D. was born on February 9, 1919 in Galena, Kan., son of the late Alva Devers Horine and Lela Mae Simmons Horine. He worked for over 30 years with Gulf Chemical, retiring in 1981 as a supervisor. He was a member of the Baxter Springs Christian Church, and was a former officer with the Great Plains Credit Union. In addition to his parents, Alva was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Horine in 2003. He married the former Billie Maxine Mooney on January 11, 1951 in Eureka Springs, Ark. she survives. Additional survivors include: a son, Kelly Horine of Denver, Colo.; daughter, Kimberly Channel of Galena, Kan.; grandchildren, Aaron Channel and Megan Channel; great-grandchildren, Azalee Jade Hopkins and Madison G. Auman, all of Galena, Kan.; brother, Gerald Horine and wife Margaret of Joplin, Mo.; two sisters, Rayma Hance and husband, Bill of Carl Junction, Mo., Lela Mae White and husband, Harry of Raytown, Mo.; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Monday from 6-7 p.m. Graveside services will be Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Quaker Valley Cemetery, Riverton, Kan. with Rev.
