Gibson National Cemetery--Ft, Gibson OK The Grove Sun Daily Thomas "Jimmie' Jackson 1926-2004 TWIN OAKS, Okla. - Thomas "Jimmie" Jackson, age 78, of Twin Oaks, Okla. passed away on December 31, 2004 in Claremore, Okla. Mr. Jackson was born to Tom Reece and Rachel Ellen (Maelzer) Jackson on September 4, 1926 in Kansas, Okla. Jimmie was raised in and around Oaks and attended Oaks Schools until being drafted into the United states Army and serving during W.W.I.I. Upon returning home he met Imogene Holmes and on Jimmie's birthday in 1960, they married in Miami, Okla. Jimmie spent time living in Tulsa where he was a barber for over 20 years. One of his favorite past times was playing and writing music and during the time he was in Tulsa, he a had a record cut by Willie Nelson. As a cowboy, Jimmie also loved the outdoors, roping and training horses, as well as fishing, hunting, and running beagles. Jimmie was a member of the Rocky Ford Baptist Church. Jimmie's parents preceded him in death. Survivors include: wife, Imogene, of the home; his son, James "Jarhead" Jackson and wife, Leslie of Twin Oaks; one brother, Dennis "Dink" Jackson of Olathe, Kan.; two half brothers, D.K. "Butch" Smith of Twin Oaks, and Walter D. "Rusty" Smith of Mounds, Okla.; and four grandchildren, Brandon James Jackson, Sarah Brooke Jackson, Levi Wade Jackson, and Harrison Seth Ryan Jackson, as well as many other friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at the Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church in Oaks, Okla. with Rev. Lance Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Curtis Snell, Gary Steeley, Roger Duncan, Dewayne Forest, Keith Daniels, and Jack Swim.
