All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Turner FH--Grove OK The Grove Sun Daily STEVEN EDWARD KUNKLER 1947-2005 GROVE, Okla. - Steven Edward Kunkler, 57-year-old Grove, Oklahoma resident, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2005 at his home following an extended illness. Steven was born November 30, 1947 in Lamar, Missouri to Russell Rusty Kunkler and Ila Jean (Jones) Kunkler. He graduated from Iola Kansas High School. Steve enlisted in the U.S. Navy on May 1, 1967. He spent two years on a minesweeper in the Atlantic and Mediterranean, one year in Vietnam on an attack boat on the Mekong River. Steve was a journeyman Plumber in Local Union 658. He worked for Stanley Plumbing and Richland Mechanical Contractors in Joplin. Steve was united in marriage to Shelly Spahn on October 20, 2001 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include: his parents, Rusty and Jean Kunkler of Joplin, one son Geoffrey Kunkler of Springfield, MO, one daughter Annie Kunkler of Joplin, MO, one step-son; Trey Boudreaux of Baton Rouge, LA, one sister; Judith Sullivan of Tulsa, OK, two brothers; Ray Kunkler of Largo, FL, Leon Kunkler and wife Charlene of Oklahoma City, OK. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at the First Christian Church, 4th & Pearl Street, Joplin, MO. Rev. Fred G. Pugh will officiate.
