Born Dec. 7th, 1940 in Zena, OK to Elmira Lane Mackie & Everett Roscoe Mackie. Survived by wife, Easker (Lois) Mackie, son Richard D. Mackie & spouse Deborah Mackie, grandson Richard E. Mackie, daughter Susan A. (Mackie) Smith & spouse Andy Smith, Grandchildren Nicolas K. & Emily A. Smith. Also survived by siblings Stella L. Braddock, Carol Stephens, Lonnie, & William Mackie. Raised in Suisun, CA. Grad. from Armijo H.S. Married the he love of his life, Lois Spracklen in 1961. Machinist by trade. Ret. from C.L.Hann Machine Shop. Enlisted in the U.S. Navy Aug. of '58 & was 1st assigned to the U.S.S. Medregal submarine. Later became a plank owner for serving on the the 5th nuclear sub. out of Mare Island, the U.S.S. Permit. Honorably discharged in 1966. Enlisted in the Navy Res. Sub. Unit. Served in the Coastal Riv. Squad. in San Diego & proudly became a "River Rat" (Coastal Riv. Div. II). Became a plank owner for a 2nd time when he joined the Special Boat Unit XI. Retired at Mare Island as a Chief Petty Officer after 30 yrs. of dedicated service to our country. Services will be Mon., Dec. 4, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel 212 Main Street, Vacaville, CA.
