Gibson National Cemetery--Ft, Gibson OK The Grove Sun Daily CALVIN L. McKINNIS 1937-2005 JAY, Okla. - Calvin L. McKinnis, 68, died Wednesday April 6 at his home in Jay. The son of Robert and Ida (Tatkenhorst) McKinnis, Calvin was born March 22, 1937 in Mead, Kansas. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a mechanic for Bell Helicopter in Amarillo, Texas, and Boeing in Wichita, Kansas. He moved to the Jay area in 1996 from Fritch, Texas. He volunteered in the community, including Meals on Wheels. He was a member of Delaware Baptist Church in Grove. Survivors include one sister, Mary Lackey of Jay and one brother, Raymond McKinnis of Winfield, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donald McKinnis, and one sister, Doris Frier. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 12 at Delaware Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Bishop officiating. Burial with military rites will be at 2 p.m. at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
