All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Oglesby Cemetery--Oglesby OK The Grove Sun Daily Mary Phyliss Murphy 1916-2005 CANEY, Kan. - Mary Phyliss Murphy, 88, died at 8:01 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at the Caney Nursing Home in Caney, Kan.. Mrs. Murphy was born on July 2, 1916 at Harrison, Ark. to Elmer and Lulu Mae (Nance) Atchley. She moved with her family to Okla. and grew up in Fairland and Grove areas and attended Grove Schools. She was married to Chester Lee Murphy on September 25, 1945. They made their home at Grove until moving to Bartlesville in 1952 and Mr. Murphy was employed by the City Bus Company and the Yellow Cab Company until his retirement. Mr. Murphy preceded her in death on December 13, 1984 and Mrs. Murphy continued living at her home in Bartlesville until moving to Caney, Kan. in 1996. Survivors include: two sons, John Murphy and his wife, Timi of Bartlesville, Okla. Edward Eugene Murphy and his wife, Peggy Jo of Caney, Kan.; one daughter, Cheryl Jean Faulkner and her husband, Jim of Caney, Kan., 13 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Hadley Atchley and Stanton Atchley, and one son, James Ray Murphy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Oglesby cemetery at Oglesby, Okla. with Rev. Claude Blackford of Locust Grove, Okla. assisted by Lynn Schellack.
