All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Southwest City Cemetery--Southwest City AR The Grove Sun Daily Dee Roy Markle 1918-2005 GROVE, Okla. - Dee Roy Markle, 87, died at 6:45 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at Freeman Hospital, following a short illness. He was born on January 8, 1918 in Dodge, Okla., to Dee C. and Faye (VanHooser) Markle. Mr. Markle was a lifelong resident. He served in the Army during W.W.II, from 1944 to 1946. He was a self-employed carpenter, and enjoyed fishing, auctions, flea markets, and yard sales. He and Dorothy (Forbes) Markle were married December 19, 1990, in Miami, Okla. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2002. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Maxine, and a brother, Frank. Survivors include: two sons, Joe Cooper and Jim Cooper, both of the state of Calif.; three stepsons, Dale Buttram of Neosho, Mo., Gary Buttram of Joplin, Mo., and Roger Buttram of Sitka, Ala.; a stepdaughter, Marta Grassi, Goodman, 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Services were held on Monday, January 31, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Clark Chapel of Memories with Dr. Jerry Seigel officiating. Interment will follow at Southwest City Cemetery, with military honors. Pallbearers will be Crissa Rohlfing, Al Forbes, Don cooper, Bob Grassi, Joe Cooper, and Gary Buttram. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Cooper and Al Dixon. Friends may call at the funeral from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2005 and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2005. Contributions in memory of Mr. Markle may be made to Southwest City Cemetery, c/o Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, Mo. 64850.
