All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Duffield Memorial Cemetery--Jay OK The Grove Sun Daily John Ross Robinson 1939-2005 JAY, Okla. - John Ross Robinson, 66, died Monday, October 10, 2005 at Grand Lake Villa, Grove, Okla. John was born March 12, 1939 at Muskogee, Oklahoma to Ross Lee Robinson and Ruby A. (Goss) Robinson. He grew up in Muskogee and graduated Muskogee High School in 1957. John received his Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma and began his teaching career in Muskogee. He later taught at Galena, Kansas; Fairland, Oklahoma and Adair, Oklahoma, before coming to Jay, Oklahoma in 1967. John married Martha (Arnall) Robinson on June 16, 1961 at Stilwell, Oklahoma. The Robinsons made their home in Jay since '67 and John was owner/operator of Woodview Realty, Inc. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jay; a member of the Oklahoma Realtors Association; a master appraiser/broker and was a former member of the Oklahoma Education Association. John loved hunting and fishing, especially deer hunting and he was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Martha, of the home; one son, John P. Robinson of the home; one daughter, Kelley J. Robinson of the home; two brothers, Donald and Ed Robinson of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Reba Jones of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Shirley Green and her husband, Hank of Inola, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and one grand- dog, "Baxter". John was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters, Lottie Osborn and Patsy Whitaker. Graveside services for John R. Robinson will be held, Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in Duffield Cemetery in Jay with Bro. Joe Summers and Chaplain John McPhail officiating.
